How the Result Is Calculated
Because Bihar STET 2026 is conducted as a Computer Based Test across multiple shifts and dates, BSEB applies a Normalization process to account for any difference in difficulty between shifts. Your result is based on your Normalized Score, not your Raw Score — see the Exam Pattern page for a worked example of how this can affect a borderline result.
Qualifying Marks
Your Normalized Score is compared against the qualifying percentage for your category (50% for General, down to 40% for SC/ST/PwD/Women — see the full table on the Exam Pattern page) to determine whether you’ve qualified.
Certificate
Candidates who qualify Paper 1 and/or Paper 2 are issued a pass certificate for the relevant paper(s). Per Departmental Order No. 11/Vi1-34/2009-893 dated 22 June 2021, the Bihar STET pass certificate is valid for a lifetime — it does not expire.
Important Caution
If, at any point — during the application process, between the application and result stages, or even after the result has been declared — it is found that a candidate was not actually eligible for this exam, their candidature and result can be cancelled at that stage, regardless of how far the process has progressed.
