Official Notification Details

The Bihar STET 2026 notification was issued by the Bihar School Examination Board under departmental letter no. 09/STET-17-02/2026-1239, dated 11 August 2026. The exam covers Paper 1 (Secondary level) and Paper 2 (Higher Secondary level), across all subjects prescribed for those classes in Bihar’s state university curriculum.

Application Window

Per the original notification, online applications and fee payment were accepted from the afternoon of 17 August 2026 to 31 August 2026. This window was subsequently extended to 22 September 2026 — always check the Important Dates panel on this site or the official portal for the current, final deadline before applying.

Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
• Candidates must hold the academic and professional qualifications prescribed for their chosen subject under the Bihar State School Teacher (Appointment, Transfer, Disciplinary Action and Service Conditions) Rules, 2023 (as amended) — see the Eligibility and Syllabus pages for subject-wise detail.
• Age, qualifying-marks, and fee relaxations apply only to permanent residents of Bihar in the SC/ST/EBC/BC/PwD categories. Candidates from outside Bihar are treated as General-category (male) applicants for all such purposes, regardless of their category elsewhere.

How to Apply

Applications are accepted only online, through the official registration portal — no other mode is accepted. The process has three stages:

1. Registration — enter your basic details and generate an OTP to verify your mobile number; a User ID and Password are then sent to your registered mobile number.
2. Fill the form — log in with your User ID and Password, then complete your personal, educational, and other required details. Upload a recent color photograph (80–200 KB, 3.5cm × 4.5cm, white/light background, face and eyes clearly visible — caps, cloth head coverings, and dark glasses are not acceptable in the photo) and your signature (50–200 KB scanned).
3. Pay the fee — only via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. No other payment method is accepted.

Use the Preview button to check your filled application before submitting, and the Save button to correct any error before final submission. Once the admit card is issued, no correction request for any detail will be accepted — review everything carefully before submitting.

Documents to Keep Ready

• Matric (10th) certificate and marksheet (for date of birth)
• Intermediate (12th) certificate and marksheet
• Graduation certificate and marksheet
• Postgraduate certificate and marksheet (if applicable)
• B.Ed. certificate and marksheet (or equivalent professional qualification)
• Any other relevant educational qualification certificate
• Residential certificate issued by a competent authority
• Caste certificate (SC/ST candidates), issued by a competent authority
• Updated non-creamy-layer certificate (EBC/BC candidates), issued by a competent authority
• Valid disability certificate in the prescribed format (PwD candidates claiming reservation)
• Ex-servicemen certificate, where claiming the related age relaxation

Important Cautions

• An incomplete application, or more than one application from the same candidate, will be rejected.
• Candidates applying under the EWS category should select “General” as their category on the application portal.
• The result is generated strictly based on the reservation category you enter — errors here are the candidate’s own responsibility and can affect your result.
• If a candidate is found ineligible at any stage — before or after the result is declared — their candidature and result can be cancelled.
